Wyatt was born on May 9, 2002 after a very difficult delivery. Within the first 24 hours of his life, he coded and had to be air-lifted to the NICU in Sioux Falls, SD. I was unable to accompany him. That was the one of the worst days of my life not being able to be with him. But, if he wouldn't have gone, he may not be with us today. Since then, Wyatt has had an amazing will to overcome soo many hurdles. He continues to inspire people everyday with the twinkle in his eye and infectious smile.
Our wish for Wyatt is to keep that strength and to continue building on it throughout his life.

Dusseldorf, Germany . . . . Here we come!

Round Two!

Wyatt just got accepted to return to Germany this summer for his second round of stem-cell treatment and we couldn't be happier. We are scheduled to leave on June 26th and will be traveling home on July 3rd. I have a lot of planning to do in the meantime.

Wyatt's grandpa, Bernard (pictured above) is coming with us again. It is nice to have someone with that understands and speaks the language. Grandpa did great picking up on the culture. We are looking forward to the fine food and of course a few Alt's.

I will keep everyone posted as we prepare for the trip!

Our Little Biker Boy!! I suprised Wyatt by having his new bike ready behind the garage door. When we arrived at home after school and work, I hit the garage door and the excitment started. He couldn't peel his backpack off fast enough. He squealed with delight and thumped his chest - - asking me in his own way, "Is that for me?!?!?!" When I told Wyatt to hop on and try his bike out, he was so excited. He rode until I had to tell him to park it and come in for supper . . . Then this morning, after getting ready for school, I found him in the garage getting on his bike and riding again.

A very proud little boy who just wrote his name for the very first time by himself, ever! I received this picture from school on February 10, 2010 - it is so wonderful to have such a supportive staff at school that gets as excited as we do when Wyatt has an accomplishment. Apparently, he paraded around the school showing everyone - and why not!

Future Biker

I am so new at this but am very excited to start sharing some great happenings with Wyatt. Today, I received an e-mail notification telling me that his new bicylce is en route! I am so excited to get Wyatt on his bike and watch him cruise around the farm. He was able to try several adaptive bikes in Sioux Falls during an appointment and was so proud once we found the perfect one for him. I will make certain that I post pictures.
